Car Alignment and First Womps (8/10/2026)
The car received the last finishing pieces to be mobile. I was somehow able to find half shafts in Austin Texas on marketplace and coincidentally a good friend was going through there the day I saw it posted. Hard to believe I got those for 40 dollars as they are hard to come across. After getting those half shafts Alex (corsa_tec) whipped up his infamous Z33 axle stub conversion on them. Please make sure to buy them for your 240sx it's a must do mod if you want reliability or you want something more modern. The last thing to do before getting it prepped for an alignment was to getting the tie rods to work. The tie rods on the car were adjustable ISR ones for an s14 that ended up being too long. Alex sent me an old zilvia post with tie rod lengths so I picked up some 1999 Maxima tie rods and those were slightly too long so we cut them up. I also maxed out the front coilovers while the car was in the air and lowered the rear a half inch or so. At the alignment shop it was pretty straight forward. They usually do not align drift cars as they are a race car focused shop. Mason was more than happy to align the car as it had the right parts on it and wasn't fricked off. I think we ended up getting 3.3 degrees of camber all the way around and it was straight on everything else? Anyways I drove the car for the first time and it felt pretty surreal. The drop knuckles and the subframe risers make the car hook on 225's wheras when it had the stock subframe it would blow the 235's off all of second gear. The next steps are doing a nice exhaust setup on it so stay tuned for that.
Shop Car Update (7/27/2026)
The shop car is slowly coming together, I've done a few things here and there but I credit most of the work to Alex (corsa_tec). I bought this 1989 Nissan 240sx Hatch back in December of 2025. Since December the car has received a rack relocation and a almost fully refreshed front and rear subframe (and other random trinkets). Most of the goodies are here for the standalone setup besides the expansion harness but that's a fun project for later. It's more important that the car drives good and all the stuff in the steering system works.
